Barrett-Jackson: Shelby GT500 KR better than Dodge Challenger SRT-8 but less than Corvette ZR1

The Barrett-Jackson auction is the chestnut. Each year, lots of gorgeous creatures motor (s) exchanged by setting odds still more impressive. Milling 2008 has not failed and it became a tradition, the first copies of a model begins to feel that his career is 'Auction' at this important event and the money collected goes to works charity.

Thus the first Shelby GT500 KR (King of the Road) for the occasion with a translucent roof (an option appeared in the 2008 catalog of traditional Mustang), the future first Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and the first Corvette ZR1 has been auctions.

In fact, about the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 production has not really started yet, the concept car that represented the future self.

The auction was "reasonable" in the sense that they have established a value proportional to the pedigree of the car.

The first lot is the amazing Corvette ZR1 to 620 hp which was sold for .... 1 million dollars every round. The price / performance so often touted to sell the Corvette is necessarily less attractive ... except to say that this million dollars is tax deductible!

Behind several lengths follows the Mustang Shelby GT500 KR 540 hp to the hat of glass that was exchanged against 605,000 dollars. Carroll was there and was satisfied that the money go fill the coffers of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Indeed, it is more than 999 cars for sale (probably less actually).

The last batch was conspicuously absent, Dodge Challenger SRT-8. A 6.1-liter Hemi V8 to 425 hp, not filthy mouth, the full option and the plate "Number 1" went for $ 400,000. Discount what!
